My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife: Marrying you has screwed up my life.
You are one of those people That can go unnoticed at first, Later only to have me wonder; How?
How did you embed yourself So thoroughly into my mind?
A girlfriend can make a man feel appreciated, respected and loved, and let's face it, who doesn't love to be loved?
Sharing experiences together allows you to see that person, and even yourself, for what you truly are.
They morphed so gradually, So subtly, So beautifully, Into you.

Then there's the part where you begin to expose your innermost thoughts, feelings and desires, perhaps as you never had before. How did I not see this happening, So quickly, So slowly, So certain, So tedious, So naturally, So irrationally.
Though the initial excitement and nervousness may fade, the security and love that replaces it is beautiful too. I was looking through poems on this site to identify with, yet I couldn't find one that fit my current emotions. Usually it falls upon a man to make the first move in starting a relationship. And when she does, you can imagine the exuberance, anticipation and relief our nervous gentleman feels.
